Hey guys!
So, this is my first blog post ever and I really wanted to dedicate it to something very special to me. Last week I went up to Orlando for Playlist Live!!! Honestly, the most exciting thing to ever happen to me. My friend and I bought our tickets last minute on the spur of the moment because it was something we've wanted to do for years now. We didn't even know how we were going to get to Orlando, but all that mattered was that we were going.
I included some of my favorite pictures I took above, but I did meet sooo many more people. Let me first off say that so many of these people are so kind and genuine. Ricky Dillon spent every minute of his free time meeting as many fans as possible. He was so sweet and amazing. Connor and Sam came out and took at least 50 selfies with girls standing outside the hotel. Even Tyler Oakley stayed after an interview to meet everyone. For the most part all of the youtubers devoted their stay to the fans and I really appreciated that. Some youtubers (I won't name names) wouldn't even look at the fans. If they weren't specifically scheduled for a meetup, they would turn their head and pretend that they didn't exist. I tried saying hi to one of my favorite beauty gurus THREE times and each time she looked at me, didn't wave, didn't say hi, just turned around and pretended like I didn't exist. Excuse me, don't come to a convention devoted to you if you aren't even going to acknowledge the fans.
Besides those few people, It was such a great experience. It was a little crazy (there were 8,000 tickets sold!) but the fact that I could meet so many of my idols was amazing.
Troye Sivan:
My absolute all time favorite person. I met him Sunday morning. My friend and I got up at 4 in the morning and stood outside for 5 hours, just so we could get a spot in line. Troye was absolutely so adorable and sweet and signed everything I wanted. At the end of our chat I asked if he could do his famous "BYEEEE" for me and he did! He even told me a little secret, but shhh I'm not allowed to say. That was definitely the highlight of my entire trip.
I also, got to meet the Brits! That's right: Marcus Butler, Joe Sugg, Caspar Lee, Alfie Deyes and Jim Chapman. These guys were so cool and down to earth and I loved hugging each and everyone of them. I don't have the picture of us saved on our computer just yet, so that's the only reason why they're not up there.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to personally meet Zoella, but I did see her. She is so... adorable. That's the best word to describe her. She was very nice and waved to everyone, I just wish that I could've talked to her, she is my favorite female youtuber.
Probably the scariest thing to ever happen to me in my entire life happened on Saturday evening. My friend and I were waiting for our food and all of a sudden this lady comes up to us and literal poop falls out of her pants. She picks it up and started coming at us with it. I was freaking out because I thought this lady was severely mental. I didn't know what she was capable of and if she was going to smear her own poop on us. I was genuinely angry, sad and just confused. I may have even cried a little... It wasn't until we were all worked up and crying when she mashed the poop in her hands, took of her teeth and wig and told us it was a prank. Sure enough, there were cameras filming us and I will soon be up on her youtube page. It's actually quite hilarious now that I think about it! https://www.youtube.com/user/BeatriceSteinberg/featured
If anyone is debating on whether to go to Playlist Live or even Vidcon, if you truly care about youtube and these people make you happy, it is well worth the money. I enjoyed every minute and it was literally the best days of my life. You get real personal time with these amazing people and it's so surreal to see them off of your computer screen. I hope my input was helpful and I would love to hear about who you met or who you would want to meet! If you aren't already watching youtube, go do it! You can find some hilarious and super awesome people on there.
Peace out! :)

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what kind of conventions are held up in London, but maybe if you did some research you could find some near you! It really is a great experience. Best of luck :)
